Kathmandu, March 23

The Nepali Embassy in New Delhi has urged the Nepali nationals living in India not to go out of their residences to protect themselves and their families as India reports more coronavirus cases and subsequent deaths.

In a statement on Monday, the embassy has advised them against trying to move to another place or in Nepal citing many Indian states and cities have gone on lockdown whereas the government of Nepal has also decided to close the border points for the next one week.

The immigrants have been told not to leave their houses unless necessary.

The embassy’s urge follows the arrival of thousands of Nepalis working in India into Nepal in the past few triggering fears of infection in Nepal. From this morning, the government has banned cross-country human movement.
