Kathmandu, January 8
A 39-year-old Nepali woman, Dikshya Dahal, died under suspicious circumstances in Sydney, Australia. She reportedly fell from the seventh floor of a Paramatta apartment block six days ago.
According to The Daily Mail, two hours before her death, a call was made to Australia’s emergency number, 000, from the apartment. During the call, loud noises and a heated argument could be heard in the background. However, no conversation took place during the call, and subsequent attempts by emergency services to reconnect went unanswered, stated investigator Barry Vincent.
By the time Paramatta police contacted Dahal’s husband, 40-year-old Rabindra Subedi, they had already been notified about the incident.
Subedi was initially detained for questioning as part of the preliminary investigation but was later released due to a lack of immediate evidence.
Dahal was working as a nurse in Australia. The couple had been married for a few years, but their relationship had been turbulent, with previous disputes reportedly escalating to police involvement, according to 7News.
Recently, they had stopped living together. Police are now examining CCTV footage and other technical evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
