The Nepali teams have returned home after participating in the CAVA Beach Volleyball Championship held in Thimphu, Bhutan. The Nepali women’s team won the gold medal, while the men’s team secured the silver medal.
On Sunday, the teams were warmly welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by Jitendra Bahadur Chand, President of the Nepal Volleyball Association, General Secretary Roshan Shrestha, and other officials.
In the women’s category, Nepal defeated Uzbekistan 2-0 in sets to win the gold medal. While in the men’s category, Nepal defeated Maldives A Team 2-0 in sets, earning the silver medal.
Rupesh Bishta, the coach of the Nepali teams, expressed immense satisfaction at winning both gold and silver medals in his first international coaching stint. He attributed their success to arriving in Bhutan two days before the competition to prepare thoroughly.
The championship saw participation from 10 men’s and 7 women’s teams.
