The Nepali women’s team has achieved their second consecutive victory at the ongoing CAVA Beach Volleyball Championship in Thimphu, Bhutan.
In a match held on Friday at the Changlimithang National Stadium, the Nepali duo Kamala Pun and Manisha Chaudhary dominated the Bhutanese team, securing a decisive 2-0 win with set scores of 21-5 and 21-4.
Earlier, the Nepali team had triumphed over Uzbekistan with scores of 21-17 and 21-15. They are set to face the Maldives in their final group match later today.
The men’s team from Nepal also celebrated a win on Friday. Man Bahadur Shrestha and Dil Bahadur Sunar defeated Bhutan’s B team 21-14 in both sets. The men’s team will compete against Uzbekistan and Tajikistan later in the day.
All group-stage matches are scheduled to conclude today, with the semifinals and finals set for Saturday.
The CAVA Beach Volleyball Championship spans three days and features 10 men’s teams and 7 women’s teams. Nepal is represented by one team in each category.
