Nepali Congress demonstrates against govt across country

Kathmandu, December 14

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has staged demonstrations against the government in major cities and towns of Nepal on Monday.

The party is demonstrating to protest the detention of senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel in his home district on December 2, the government apathy in the Covid-19 response and alleged corruption in the purchase of medical equipment a few months ago.

The party has also been accusing the government of heading towards authoritarianism.

In Kathmandu, the party organised rallies from various corners of the city which converged into a mass meeting at Shanti Batika of Kathmandu.

Central leaders of the party addressed their cadres at various places of the country.
