As candidates intensify their election campaign for the House of Representatives and state assembly elections due on December 7, Nepali Congress central committee member and a state assembly candidate, Pradip Poudel, has used a drone to solicit votes.

The drone was employed for election publicity purpose at a corner meeting organised by the party here at Sisaghat on Sunday. The drone was used for dropping flower petals at the election assembly.

Poudel said the Nepali Congress was using the new technology to draw the attention of voters.

The drone, equipped with poster, pamphlets and banner is sent to even places inaccessible to the people with the help of a remote control for election publicity. The drone can be flown at the height of 200 feet above the ground.

A team of six technicians associated with Synergy Automation and Instrumentation Company assembled the drone. It took two weeks to assemble the machine.

The sight of the drone hovering over settlements with the fluttering the party flag attracted the attention of the voters in the area.
