Nepali ad agency bags international award

Raymond So, the chairman, Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA) receives the award on behalf of Outreach Nepal

Kathmandu, December 20

Outreach Nepal, a Nepali advertising company, has won the ECI Marketing Innovation Award, for its Basic Humanity campaign.

The campaign was initiated in the beginning of March this year, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic to spread the message of empathy.

The company received the award at the ECI festival held in Shanghai on December 16-18.

The awards, founded by the International Entrepreneurs, Creatives and Innovators Association (IECIA) recognise the most innovative achievements in the categories of business model, product, service, technology, marketing and management to encourage and inspire innovations applied in commercial and creative industries around the world, the company says.

Raymond So, the chairman of Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA), received the award on behalf of Outreach Nepal in Shanghai as Nepali representatives could not travel there due to the Covid-19 crisis, according to the company.

Ujaya Shakya, the founder managing director of Outreach Nepal, explains the winning campaign, “My team at Outreach took a small initiative using social media where we reminder people to stop displaying the lavish food images, just as a reminder of the Basic Humanity which is an integrated part of all of us.”

The company claims its campaign has already been adopted by six countries and in eight languages.
