Kathmandu, January 30

In its latest update about the Nepal weather, the Meteorological Forecasting Division says the westerly low-pressure system is still active and it will take some more days for the sky to get clear.

The westerly low-pressure system is having a partial impact on the weather at present. Accordingly, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly parts of the country while the Tarai areas will have foggy conditions due to the influence of this system, the Meteorological Forecasting Division says.

Although there was sunshine until noon in the Kathmandu valley for the last two days, the weather turning cloudy continues in the afternoon, resulting in a somewhat cold environment.

The minimum temperature in Kathmandu was three degrees Celsius while the maximum was 16 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.

Most parts of the country including Kathmandu witnessed warm sunshine today. Yet, the division’s weather bulletin states the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly parts of Province 1 and Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini while partly cloudy in the rest of the parts in the afternoon.

The same weather will prevail tonight, the division states.
