Janakpurdham, August 31
Nepal on Monday reported the first case of the death of a health worker due to Covid-19.
A health assistant aged 35 had died of Covid-19 in Manara Sishwa municipality-4 of Mahottari in southern Nepal on August 26. Following the death, his swab sample was collected and sent to a lab in Janakpur for the coronavirus test.
The test report came positive today, informs Mahottari Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Katuwal.
The man was being taken to Kathmandu after he reported some respiratory problems but had died after they reached Sindhuli on the way.
Nepal’s Covid-19 death tally has reached 228 as of Monday afternoon, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
