Nepal PM Sher Bahadur Deuba reaches New Delhi on official India trip

Kathmandu, April 1

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has left Kathmandu on a three-day official India trip on Friday afternoon.

When he landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, the Indian minister of state for tourism, Ajay Bhatt, welcomed him.

Earlier, senior high-level officials saw off Deuba and his entourage members at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Deuba’s delegation to India includes his wife Arzu Rana Deuba, Foreign Affairs Minister Narayan Khadka, Energy Minister Pampha Bhusal, Health Minister Birodh Khatiwada and Agriculture Minister Mahindra Raya Yadav among others.

Deuba has designated Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand to work as the acting head of the government and his party’s vice-president Purna Bahadur Khadka to work as the acting head of his party in his absence.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is scheduled to return home on Sunday.
