Kathmandu, January 31
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said on Tuesday that his government is committed to addressing problems of Dalit communities.
Constitutional recognition for Dalit Commission is a huge achievement, Prachanda said. He promised to make Dalit Uplift and Development Committee more active, during a meeting with members of the National Dalit Liberation Front at PM’s official residence in Baluwatar.
On the occasion, he said investigations into the killing of Laxmi Pariyar and Ajit Mijar are moving ahead. Prachanda pledged to take action against the guilty and provide adequate compensation to bereaved families.
