Nepal is the fastest growing market for universities in the United States, suggests a recent survey report.
The Open Doors summary report made public recently says the growth rate of Nepali students in US universities stands at 20.1 per cent, the highest among top 25 countries of origin of international students.
Following Nepal is India, which sent 12. 3 per cent more students to the US than last year.
Meanwhile, Nepal is in the 13th position among 25 top countries of origin of US-based international students, according to the study.
There are 11,607 Nepali students and they make 1.1 per cent of the total international students.
Top five senders include China, India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Canada. Chinese and Indian students cover around half of the total international students studying at US universities.
Besides Nepal and India, Bangladesh is the only country from South Asia that is among top 25 countries of origin. The new entrant of the list, Bangladesh is in the last position.
