Nepal Covid-19 tally: 968 new cases, 1,114 recoveries, 6 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 891,224 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 968 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,582 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 762 returned positive. Likewise, 4,460 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 206 tested positive.

Of total tests, 6.57 per cent of the PCR and 4.61 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 6.03 per cent.

As of today, there are 16,248 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,131 are hospitalised, 355 in intensive care units and 122 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,114 people have achieved recovery whereas six deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 771,338 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,180 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 123,896 people were vaccinated today.
