Nepal Covid-19 tally: 4,904 new cases, 2,115 recoveries, 35 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, August 10

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 791,910 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 4,904 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 13,217 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 3,194 returned positive. Likewise, 5,906 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,710 tested positive.

Of total tests, 24.16 per cent of the PCR and 28.95 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 25.64 per cent.

As of today, there are 37,332 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,347 are hospitalised, 761 in intensive care units and 176 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,115 people have achieved recovery whereas 35 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 673,198 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,150 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 93.4 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.

Likewise, 2,722,020 people have received their full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 4,541,682 have received their first dose. Today, 132,221 people were vaccinated throughout the country.
