Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,218 new cases, 1,722 recoveries, 19 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 780,807 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 3,218 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 8,866 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,231 returned positive. Likewise, 4,707 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 987 tested positive.

Of total tests, 25.16 per cent of the PCR and 20.96 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 23.71 per cent.

As of today, there are 35,432 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,405 are hospitalised, 746 in intensive care units and 169 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,722 people have achieved recovery whereas 19 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 667,270 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,038 died, according to the ministry. Likewise, 2,359,793 people have received their full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 4,442,622 have received their first dose. Today, 191,339 people were vaccinated throughout the country.
