Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,920 new cases, 3,007 recoveries, 34 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 665,777 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,920 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,000 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,353 returned positive. Likewise, 3,836 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 567 tested positive.

Of total tests, 22.55 per cent of the PCR and 14.78 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 19.52 per cent.

As of today, there are 40,336 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,847 are hospitalised, 706 in intensive care units and 200 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 3,007 people have achieved recovery whereas 34 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 584,334 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,009 died, according to the ministry. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 92.2 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.
