Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,718 new cases, 1,565 recoveries, 15 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 685,361 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,634 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,503 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,718 returned positive. Likewise, 5,082 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 916 tested positive.

As of today, there are 25,828 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,859 are hospitalised, 567 in intensive care units and 171 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,565 people have achieved recovery whereas 15 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 612,994 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,263 died, according to the ministry. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 94.6 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.
