Kathmandu, December 23

The government of Nepal has barred people travelling from and via the United Kingdom to Nepal from entering the country.

The decision comes after a mutated variant of the coronavirus triggered a new wave of infection there.

The country’s aviation regulator, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, says it has issued a circular to all airline companies conducting international flights from and to Nepal.

Meanwhile, the government has also decided to stop people from Nepal from going to the UK.

The decision has already come into effect from Wednesday and will last until the next notice.
