Nepal Army directs personnel to prepare for monsoon disaster response

Nepal Army Headquarters, Bhadrakali

Kathmandu, June 25

As the monsoon effects are getting stronger, the Nepal Army has directed its personnel to prepare for responding to monsoon disasters such as floods and landslides.

The army headquarters recently issued an operation order to its units across the country, directing them to ensure the personnel are on standby to respond to the incidents.

The army spokesperson Bigyan Raj Pandey says the units have been told to prepare necessary tools and equipment as well as human resources.

As the army personnel are busy in various tasks related to the Covid-19 response, they should pay equal attention to the monsoon disasters also, according to the army headquarters.

The army estimates that around three million families across the country could be affected by the floods and landslides this season.
