Nepal Army Day marked with fanfare

Kathmandu, February 21

The Nepal Army has celebrated the Nepal Army day with fanfare on Friday. A special function was organised at the army pavilion, Tundikhel of Kathmandu.

During the function, the personnel showcased various military skills.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Ishwar Pokharel among other government officials had attended the event.

The Chief of the General Staff of the British Armed Forces, Mark Carleton-Smith, was the chief guest of the event.

The national military organisation, since 1991, has been celebrating the Hindu festival of Mahashivaratri as its establishment day every year.
