Kathmandu, December 16

The government-run power distribution monopoly, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), says it is closing all tariff counters across the country for the next five days, from today to coming Monday (December 18), to upgrade its billing system.

Issuing a public notice today, the authority says it is closing the counters as the new tariff rates will come into effect for all metre readings from today onwards and the bills have to be issued as per the M-Power billing system.

The NEA says the system will apply to all kinds of customers across the country at the same time.
