Kathmandu, December 11
The Narayanghat-Mugling road section will remain closed for two weeks during the day from Friday, officials say as they prepare to stablise the recently-expanded highway.
A meeting of the road section’s security committee on Wednesday decided to close the highway from 11 am to 3 pm for two weeks to facilitate work on the highway. According to the committee, vehicles headed to Narayanghat will be stopped at 15 Kilo and trucks at Dasdhunga. Similarly, vehicles from Kathmandu are to be stopped in Muglin Bazaar and those from Pokhara in Benitar. Trucks from Pokhara will be stopped at Aaby Khairini.
Although the work was supposed to be carried out last year, it was stalled due to delays in contracting.
