Chitwan, July 8

The Narayangadh-Muglin road section in the Chitwan district connecting Kathmandu and Pokhara with the East-West Highway of the country has been obstructed since Wednesday night owing to a landslide.

Shiva Khanal, the information officer of the Division Road Office in Chitwan, says a landslide at Setidobhan obstructed the road and efforts are underway to reopen it.

Thousands of vehicles have been stranded halfway on both sides due to the landslides. Authorities have requested the travellers to go for an alternative route as far as possible.

Landslides on this road and resultant obstructions in the movement have been a regular affair every monsoon.
