Kathmandu, May 21
The Nagdhunga–Naubise road section will remain closed for four and a half hours daily from May 24 to June 7 to allow for road construction work.
Previously, construction was carried out only at night, from May 5 to May 14. However, authorities have now decided to extend work into the daytime as well.
Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Rishiram Tiwari said the road will be closed daily from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm as per the road project’s proposal. The decision was made in coordination with the Dhading District Administration Office.
The project involves widening and repaving the road by straightening its curves. While demolition work was conducted at night, engineers required uninterrupted daytime hours for technical tasks.
During the closure, authorities have suggested using alternative routes such as Dharke–Sitapaila and Tokha–Chhahare–Trishuli–Galchhi. Vehicles traveling from Kathmandu will be halted at Nagdhunga, while those coming from Naubise will stop at Khanikhola.
