Mustang Air helicopter with five onboard goes missing in Langtang area

Kathmandu, March 27

A Mustang Air helicopter carrying five people has gone missing in the Langtang area of Rasuwa district, officials said.

According to the airline’s Managing Director, Ronan Lamichhane, the helicopter lost contact with authorities while carrying a total of five individuals, including the pilot.

“We have not received further details. There were five people on board, including the pilot,” Lamichhane said to Onlinekhabar. “The area has no telephone connectivity, which has made it difficult to obtain additional information.”

Sources at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal said the helicopter has been out of contact since around 1:30 pm.

Meanwhile, Rasuwa’s Assistant Chief District Officer, Dhruba Prasad Adhikari, said efforts are underway to gather more information about the incident.

“We are coordinating with the Nepal Army and police personnel stationed in the upper region to understand the situation. No further information has been received so far,” he said.
