Biratnagar, May 7
A teenage boy has been found dead on the bank of a Sunsari-Morang Irrigation Project canal in Belbari municipality-9 of Morang district, near Biratnagar, on Thursday.
Police have suspected that Aayush Giri, a resident of Hoklabari, Kanepokhari rural municipality-1 of the district, might have been murdered. Investigators say the body’s appearance and the location of where it was found suggest that he was murdered elsewhere and thrown there later.
Subsequently, 11 persons have been arrested for further investigation, informs SP Bishwa Adhikari at the District Police Office. He says the Provincial Police Office, the DPO, and the Belbari Area Police Office have mobilised separate teams for investigation.
It has been learned that Giri had left his home yesterday afternoon. He was reportedly engaged in a scuffle with some other locals at a pub.
