Kathmandu, February 26

Following the reinstatement of the House of Representatives with a Supreme Court verdict earlier this week, the members of the lower house of bicameral parliament are set to receive the payments for the time when the House was dissolved also.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had dissolved the House on December 20, 2020, but the apex court had reinstated it this Tuesday.

The Federal Parliament Secretariat says now the lawmakers will get three months’ pay (from mid-December to mid-March) at once.

A House of Representatives member receives Rs 55,230 as his/her monthly salary. Besides, they also get paid allowances for meetings, communication facilities, residency, furniture, fuel, and transport among others.
