The government has claimed that tourism ministers from around one dozen countries will come to Nepal as the country is opening the ambitious Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign amidst a special function in Kathmandu this Wednesday.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai informs that his counterparts in India, China, Myanmar, Cambodia, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Bangladesh and Qatar among other countries will join the function.
Inaugurating the Pokhara Street Festival on the occasion of the New Year in Pokhara on Sunday, the minister also claimed that the bases to make sure that at least two million foreign tourists would visit Nepal in the year as targeted by the government were already ready.
The government recently improved the capacity of the Kathmandu-based international airport, added more international flights and prepared other infrastructures also, which would make the government achieve its target, according to him.
The VNY opening functions would be organised this Wednesday in all provinces, besides in the capital, whereas Nepali diplomatic missions abroad would also host some functions next week, on January 7, Bhattarai said.
