Kathmandu, January 21
A person has been arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport with about half a kilogram of gold.
Khagendra Darji of Jhapa was arrested with 499 grams of gold said Head of Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office Tokaraj Pandey.
Pandey said Darji who came to Kathmandu via Doha was arrested with 499 grams of gold during the security check.
Some of the recovered gold is in a semi-solid state.
The security of the airport has been handed over to the armed police force. This, airport sources believe, is a reason why the gold as confiscated.
