The Tribhuvan Highway has been blocked due to a landslide.
Police in Dhading say the highway connecting Kathmandu and Hetauda was blocked in both directions after a landslide struck Sopyangkhola in Thakre Rural Municipality-7, Dhading, at around 9 pm last night.
According to police, continuous rainfall has made it difficult to clear the debris.
Since Thursday morning, four pieces of equipment have been deployed to clear the landslide.
Separately, the Prithvi Highway remains blocked after the road was washed away by flooding at Krishnabhir.
With the Prithvi Highway closed, vehicles travelling to and from Kathmandu have been using alternative highways connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu.
As a result, three routes between Hetauda and Kathmandu are now experiencing heavy traffic congestion.
