Butwal, August 19
A landslide in the Siddhababa tunnel area of Tinau Rural Municipality-3, Palpa, has completely blocked the Siddhartha Highway. On Wednesday morning, the road was blocked when a landslide fell from above the road about 100 meters north of the point where the tunnel road begins from the Palpa side.
Bhim Lal Bhattarai, Deputy Superintendent of Police and chief of the District Police Office, Palpa, said that after the landslide stopped falling, work began using a dozer to clear the road, but it would take one to two hours.
Since the Siddhababa area faces a high risk of landslides, police have urged passengers and drivers to exercise caution.
With the highway blocked, traffic on the Palpa-Butwal road section has been affected.
