Kathmandu, December 29
Kathmandu metropolitan city has opened a new fire engine station in Balaju.
This will be the third station in its jurisdiction as it already has functional stations in Basantapur and Baudhha Ramhiti.
The city government says two more such stations will be established in the next few years. Whereas one station will be established in Balkhu, the second will be around Maharajgunj, informs the city government’s Disaster Management Director Rabin Man Shrestha.
Once these new stations will come into operation, the firefighting vehicles can reach fire incident sites within five minutes regardless of their location inside the city, according to him.
