Kathmandu’s Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya and Madrid’s Mayor Manuela Carmena signed an agreement to exchange cooperation and support, at a function organised in Kathmandu today.

Shakya says he also held discussions with the Madrid counterpart about cooperation to promote tourism and improve public transportation in Kathmandu. Likewise, Kathmandu has also sought Madrid’s support in post-earthquake reconstruction of its heritage sites, according to him.

In response, Carmena said she was willing to strengthen the ties between two countries, Shakya informs.
