Kathmandu, August 25
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Kamal Thapa has said a letter seeking the dismissal of three Bagmati Province lawmakers may be fake.
Thapa expressed the suspicion after posting on Facebook a letter regarding disciplinary action against the three lawmakers. The letter, dated August 24 and bearing the signature of RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden, seeks the dismissal of the three provincial lawmakers. Thapa questioned the authenticity of the letter, saying no meeting of the RPP Central Working Committee had been held since August 20.
“I am surprised by how this decision was made when no meeting of the RPP Central Working Committee has been held since August 20,” Thapa wrote. “Since the letter does not mention the date on which the meeting was held, I also wonder whether it is fake. I hope this is not true.”
