Kamal Thapa appeals to Rana, Lohani for merger

Kathmandu, July 29

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party led by Kamal Thapa has appealed to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (United) jointly led by Pashupati Shamsher Rana and Prakash Chandra Lohani to merge the parties.

A meeting of the party’s central work execution committee held on Monday appealed to the RPP (United) and other ‘nationalist’ parties to initiate a unification process.

Earlier, the RPP (United) had also made a decision to merge with like-minded parties. The RPP meeting today welcomed the decision.

Meanwhile, the party urged the government to meet its 22 demands at the earliest. The party has warned that it would launch a protest if the demands are not made.

The party also decision to hold the party’s next general convention by June next year. Its sister organisations will hold the convention before that.
