Hitendra Dev Shakya has reacted that “justice has prevailed” after the Supreme Court ordered his reinstatement as Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
Speaking to the National News Agency (RSS), Shakya said the judiciary has provided him relief after he was hurt by the government’s decision. He said, “The court’s decision has made me feel relieved.”
He reiterated his commitment to work in the interest of the country, the people and the Authority, in line with his qualifications and capabilities.
After Kulman Ghising became Energy Minister, the government, on his proposal, had transferred Shakya from the post of Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority to the Water and Energy Commission on September 21 and appointed Manoj Silwal in his place. Shakya had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against the government’s decision.
