Jhapa teen dies after elephant attack

Jhapa, March 17

One of the two people who were injured in an elephant attack this morning died in course of treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Kritiman Khati, 19, of Deumai municipality-10 in Ilam.

He died while undergoing treatment at Mechi Hospital.

Khati was referred from Birtamod-based Birtacity Hospital for further treatment, says the Jhapa District Police Office Spokesperson Rakesh Thapa.

Khati and Milan Karki Doli, 19, of Arjundhara municipality-1 were injured in the elephant attack at Buddhashanti rural municipality-2 of Jhapa this morning when they were chasing the wild elephant after it entered the village.

It has been learned that the condition of Karki Doli is normal and receiving treatment at Living Home Polyclinic, Budhabare.
