A man has been reportedly raped in the Jhapa district of eastern Nepal. However, the police released the suspects without any action as there is not any law in Nepal that states that men can be raped too.

A 30-year-old man in Biring Khola, Kankai municipality-7 of the district was reported on Saturday, according to police. Currently, he is receiving treatment at Birta City Hospital in Birtamod.

Two persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in the case, but they have been released after some inquiries. Investigating officials say the duo were released as the District Court refused to remand them in custody.

Police officials claim such a case can be defined as an ‘unnatural rape’, but the National Penal Code has it that an unnatural rape case can be filed only if the victim is a minor.
