Janakpur, May 2
A five-layer security arrangement will be put in place for the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Janakpurdham, the capital of Province 2.
The first layer will comprise Nepali Army, the second will be the Nepali Police followed closely by the Armed Police Force. The fourth layer comprises the Indian security personnel and the final one which will be personnel in civvies from the National Investigation Department.
Both Nepali and Indian security personnel are doing the neeful to make sure nothing happens and have also deployed personnel to the outskirts of Janakpur, according to Provincial Internal Affairs and Law Minister Gyanendra Kumar Yavad.
Security has been made tight around the areas Modi will be visiting.
Meanwhile, the Province 2 government is doing its best to make things ready on time for the visit. The walls around Rangabhumi Maidan, Janaki Temple and Vivah Mandap will see various cultural pictures painted on them.
Mithila art depitcting stories of Ram-Sita will adorn the walls from Janaki Mandir to Barahbiga.
To make sure a public felicitation ceremony that the city will offer to Modi goes ahead as planned, the people are working 24 hours to decorate and clean the Rangabhumi Maidan.
The mayor of Janakpur, Lal Kishor Sah, will be felicitating Modi. Rangabhumi Maidan which previously was used as a dumping site is being cleaned to host the felicitation ceremony.
