Kathmandu, December 25
India says it has noted recent political developments in Nepal, considering these as internal matters of the country.
The immediate neighbour’s official statement comes at a time when many speculate India has a role in the dissolution of the House of Representatives. An India-Nepal relations expert from New Delhi, Ashok Mehta, had also told Onlinekhabar that the dissolution of the House ‘favours’ India.
Speaking in his weekly press briefing on Thursday, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, “We have noted the recent political development in Nepal. These are internal matters for Nepal to decide as per its democratic processes.”
He also added, “As a neighbour and well-wisher, India will continue to support Nepal and its people in moving forward on the path of peace, prosperity and development.”
