Janakpurdham, July 25
Incessant rains have caused inundation in all wards of Janakpur sub-metropolis.
Rainwater mixed with wastewater has created pools on several road stretches, thanks to the absence of a well-functioning drainage system in the city. From these pools, water is spilling over into several houses, especially old houses, located in the city.
Rastriya Samachar Samiti building, postal office building and transport management office, among other government offices, have gone under water and so have regions like Anandanagar, Balawa Tol and Devi Chok.
Rains have also affected Kadam Chok, Pidari Chok, Bhanu Chok, Bidhyapati Chok, Bishwokarma Chok, Airport, Naya Basti, Pulchok, Zonal Hospital and Barha Bigha region, among others.
Rainfall has also affected telephony and electricity transmission.
