Butwal, January 15

Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi says the government needs to make a decision about the implementation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation grant signed with the United States government as soon as possible.

The deal signed between the governments of Nepal and the United States in 2017 to receive USD 500 million grant from the American government was already in a serious problem. Now, with the House of Representatives, which should endorse the deal for its implementation, dissolved, the execution of the deal has been more uncertain.

In this context, Rayamajhi spoke with journalists in Butwal to say, “Either implement it or scrap it, there should not be indecision any longer. I am rigorously discussing it, I will reach a decision soon.”

In another context, Rayamajhi said he was the man who introduced a plan to end load shedding in the country.
