Kathmandu, April 3
Naya Shakti Nepal leader and wife of party coordinator Baburam Bhattarai, Hishila Yami says she’s sorry for the slogans she shouted during a protest in the capital on Sunday.
Yami, who organised a press conference at the party’s office in Kathmandu in the afternoon, says she respects Nepal’s sovereignty and integrity.
She said she was carried away by the sloganeering, and after an hour-long tussle with the police, she had become ‘semi-conscious’.
Yami reportedly said, desh kharej gara (cancel the state) during the protest in Kathmandu today demanding that Naya Shakti be allowed to contest the election as a recognised political party. She said she was trying to say aadesh kharej gara (cancel the Election Commission order).
