Kathmandu, May 18
The Himalayan Art Camp, an initiative by E-Arts Nepal, has launched its latest edition in Patan, bringing together artists from around the world in a celebration of creativity and cultural exchange. The event began on May 16 and will conclude on May 25.
The camp officially opened on May 18 and is hosting 30 artists—20 international and 10 Nepali—who are collaborating to create unique artworks over the 10-day program. The schedule also includes an art talk on May 19 and 20, a musical event on May 21, and an art exhibition from May 24 to 28.
Participating countries include Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Canada, Italy, Japan, South Korea, the USA, Romania, and Singapore.
Launched in 2017, the Himalayan Art Camp aims to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration between local and international artists. This year’s edition has proven to be a vibrant platform for artistic exchange, strengthening cultural ties between Nepal and its Asian neighbours through shared creativity.
Organised by E-Arts Nepal—an online art gallery established in 2010 to promote contemporary Nepali art globally—the event provides a valuable opportunity to showcase Nepal’s dynamic art scene to the world. According to the organisers, the camp not only raises awareness of Nepali culture but also paves the way for future collaborations and cross-cultural learning.
The event is expected to foster a sense of unity, leaving behind not only stunning artworks but also lasting artistic bonds across borders.
