Hero X Pulse 4V has finally been released in Nepal.

NGM Hero, the authorised distributor of Hero two-wheelers in Nepal, has made the bike available in the Nepali market. Hero X Pulse 4V is the new and refined version of the popular Hero X Pulse released a couple of years ago. The bike received excellent responses from the people from the day it was launched and the popularity of the bike does not seem to fade to this day.

The new model of the popular bike comes with various improvements to exhilarate the riders. The new model comes with a new and powerful engine, many balanced features and comfortable seating. Of course, the bike also comes with an increase in the price, but this is not unreasonable in any way. Hence, it will be interesting to look at how the market perceives the product.

Design and build

Except for the graphics on the bike, there are no significant changes in terms of design. The Hero X Pulse 4V gets an updated LED headlight at the front. Though it flaunts the same design, the LED headlight on the new model is said to be 21 per cent brighter than the previous one. It features the same diamond style framing and flaunts new graphics and stickers. The bike also features a better-padded seat this time for more comfortability.

Other visible features on Hero X Pulse 4V include switchgear with a trigger-style high beam button and a toothed brake pedal. It features a larger radiator this time around. The bike also has a digital LCD cluster displaying speed, gear, eco-mode indicator, navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

Hero X Pulse 4V is a dual-purpose bike measuring 2222mm in length, 850mm in width, 1258mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1410mm. The ground clearance on the bike is 220mm with seat height being 825mm. The bike has a kerb weight of 158kg. This is a moderate seat height and ground clearance for an adventure tourer bike.

Hero X Pulse 4V is powered by a 199.6cc, four-stroke four-valve single cylinder OHC engine with an oil cooling system. The engine on the bike is BS6 compliant. The bike comes with an integrated starter/engine cut-off button and has a kick start as well. The powertrains figures are slightly higher on this model compared to the former one.

The engine on the bike can generate a maximum power of 19.1PS @ 8500 rpm and can generate a maximum torque of 17.35Nm @ 6500rpm. The bike features a multi-plate, wet type clutch for smoother performance. The new engine on the bike ensures more refined performance and also more power when the bike performs at the top end. It also helps in the reduction of vibrations on the bike. There is also a bigger sprocket on the bike this time.

Furthermore, Hero X Pulse 4V is mated with a five-speed gearbox along with a 13L fuel tank. The bike can achieve a top speed of up to 120 kmph and should offer a mileage of at least 35-40kmpl.

Brakes, suspension and other features

Hero X Pulse 4V features a 90/90-21 M/C 54S tyre size at the front and 120/80-18 M/C 62S at the rear end. The bike features disc brakes on both ends with a single-channel ABS on the front. This conveys the message that Hero is really concerned about the safety of the users.

As for the suspension, Hero X Pulse 4V has a telescopic fork with an anti-friction bush at the front while there is a rectangular swingarm with mono-shock at the rear end.

Verdict

This is a reasonable pricing and again a great offering from Hero. The price was expected to go way higher than what Hero currently is offering.

SYM NH T200, Haojue NK 150, Yamaha XTZ 150 and bikes from Asian Beast and Crossfire fall under the same price category.
