Butwal, March 12

Rastriya Prajatantra Party chief Kamal Thapa says that the government should have imprisoned Independent Madhesh Alliance leader CK Raut rather than signing a deal with him.

Thapa said that the provisions of the 11-point agreement between the government and CK Raut were contradictory, intangible and shrouded in mystery. The former Deputy Prime Minister, who was speaking at a program in Butwal. demanded that the government take action against Raut as he showed no signs of giving up his secessionist agenda.

“We read the agreement quite a few times, but we did not see anything that indicated that Raut has given up his secessionist agenda,” said Thapa adding,” Raut’s Facebook status and the demonstrations in Janakpur all point to the mystery surrounding the deal.”

Thapa noted that the 12-point agreement signed by the then Seven Party Alliance and the Maoist rebels in Delhi in 2005 encouraged outside interference in the country and the 11-point agreement last week between Raut and the government had the potential to do the same.
