Kathmandu, February 11

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said his government does not believe in an authoritarian system, assuring it is ready to cooperate with the private sector.

Speaking at a function organised by the Trade and Export Promotion Centre in Kathmandu on Tuesday, the prime minister said the government would not trouble the businesspersons though they had different views about good governance and other issues. “Support the state by advancing production and entrepreneurship, the government is always ready to support you back,” he said.

Oli was of the view that the government, however, would not compromise its beliefs on good governance, democracy, and transparency.

The prime minister reiterated that the government was busy formulating required legal documents to accelerate economic development in the country. “If you feel that the law is a hurdle, prepare your draft and we are ready to discuss,” he said.
