Govt allocates Rs 482 million budget for Tri-Chandra College reconstruction

Kathmandu, July 27

The government has allocated Rs 482 million for the reconstruction of campus buildings of Tri-Chandra College, the oldest college in Nepal.

The students, teachers and staffs of Tri-Chandra College are at risk because a building constructed in 1918, badly hit by the 2015 earthquake, has never been renovated. Amid this situation, there are calls for its renovation.

Amid this, some stakeholders recently met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, an alumnus of the college, to demand government support.

Responding to the calls, the Ministry of Urban Development allocated Rs 482 million. Now, the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction will do the needful.
