Kathmandu, July 28
A government team formed to hold talks with Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging a fast-unto-death at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, is beginning its job today.
A meeting has been scheduled for 1:30 pm at Singhadarbar between the government team and the fasting doctor’s representatives.
The government on Thursday had formed the three-member team led by Education Secretary Shanta Bahadur Shrestha and comprising Health Secretary Kiran Remgi and Office of the Prime Minister Secretary Gopinath Mainali.
Following the government’s call, Dr KC is sending Dr YP Singh, Dr Ranjan Sapkota and Dr Jiwan Kshetry to represent him in the dialogue process.
Putting forth seven demands related to Nepal’s medical education sector, the senior orthopaedic surgeon is staging the hunger strike at TUTH for last five days.
