Indira Rana Magar meets UK House of Commons Deputy Speaker

Former Deputy Speaker of Nepal’s House of Representatives Indira Rana Magar has met Caroline Nokes, Deputy Speaker of the UK House of Commons, in London.

The meeting focused on Nepal-UK relations and the devastating floods that have affected Nepal.

During the meeting at the House of Commons, Rana and Nokes discussed the longstanding relationship between Nepal and the UK, including the contribution of Nepali Gurkha soldiers to Britain. They also spoke about the flood disaster in Nepal and its impact.

Nokes expressed sadness over the situation in Nepal and conveyed the UK’s sympathy over the loss and devastation caused by the floods.

The two also discussed the exchange of parliamentary practices.

Rabindra Jung Lamichhane, a London-based fashion entrepreneur and philanthropist who serves as CEO of Gini London Ltd and R Famous Ltd (trading as Ravi Famous), was also present at the meeting.

Rana also met with other members of the House of Commons during her time in London and discussed Nepal’s flood situation and bilateral relations.
